Welcome to Student Mental Health Services. At Vaughn, student mental health and well-being are a top priority. We believe that students thrive when they feel safe, supported, and connected and we are fortunate to have dedicated mental health team members available across all of our campuses to provide that support.
Guided by our mission, we provide equitable, compassionate, and culturally responsive mental health services that promote both student wellness and academic success. By working alongside families, staff, and the community, we strive to ensure every child has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.
Our vision is rooted in building a connected school community where mental health and academic success are embraced as essential, every student and family feels valued, and all graduates are prepared for college, career, and life.
Our work is grounded in the following core values:
- Collaboration: We work in partnership with students, families, and staff to share knowledge, resources, and solutions.
- Community: We cultivate an inclusive and equitable environment that celebrates diversity and nurtures belonging.
- Connection: We build trusting relationships rooted in compassion and respect to support lasting well-being and success.
As part of our commitment to maintaining and expanding high-quality student mental health services, Vaughn is participating in the California Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Fee Schedule Program. Through this statewide initiative, eligible school-based mental health services may be reimbursed by our students' health insurance or Medi-Cal at no cost to families. These reimbursements help sustain and enhance the mental health supports available to our students, allowing us to continue providing timely, high-quality, school-based care while expanding access to services for those who need them most.
